A TikTok warmup is a short session that trains the TikTok algorithm to treat a brand-new account as a real, engaged user before its first post. By scrolling, liking, saving, and browsing the way a person would, you tell TikTok what you are interested in — so your first videos reach the right audience instead of getting zero views.

Why warm up a new TikTok account?

A fresh account has no signal. TikTok doesn't yet know who you are or what you want to see, so it can't decide who to show your content to. A warmup gives it that signal early: consistent, natural activity in your niche tells the For You algorithm to categorize your account and push your first posts to a relevant audience.

How to warm up your TikTok account

iOS Voice Control is a built-in accessibility feature. Set it up once, then run unlimited warmup sessions.

  1. 01

Enable Voice Control on your iPhone

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Voice Control and turn it on. You will see a blue microphone icon in your status bar when it is active.

  2. 02

    Set up custom voice commands

In Voice Control settings, tap Customize Commands > Create New Command. Enter a phrase like "swipe next" and assign it a custom gesture or run a shortcut. Repeat for each action: swipe previous, like post, save post, open comments, open profile.

  3. 03

Open TikTok and start the tool

Open TikTok on your For You Page, then press Start on the warmup tool below. The tool will play voice commands at natural intervals. Keep your phone unlocked and the volume audible to Voice Control.

  4. 04

    Monitor and restart if needed

TikTok may occasionally show popups or modals that interrupt the flow. If the session gets stuck, pause the tool, dismiss the popup, and resume. You can run multiple sessions throughout the day.

How long should you warm up a TikTok account?

Most warmup sessions run 20 to 40 minutes, and 2 to 3 sessions across the first day is a good target for a new account. The default here is 30 minutes — long enough for the algorithm to start categorizing your interests without overdoing it. Keep the activity natural and varied, and do the first few minutes manually so you can steer what you engage with.
